Max, would you like to add a bit about Kobayashi’s 3 co-drivers... There was some drama in this victory.

While I can see that appeal to some, Cup cars make lousy track-day cars. It’s tough to make them dance on a road course, they weigh north of 3,300 pounds, the brakes are awful and the tires are ridiculously undersized. I think with some effort, the basic tube frame can be adapted.
My first Beetle was a 1971 Super Auto-stick.
This is the way.
This only works if every car travels the EXACT SAME SPEED. Since people will need to pass others, it doesn’t matter if the speed limit is 45 or 85, a difference in speed requires some sort of lane discipline.

Me too. Heel/toe braking is VERY hard when you are actually using your heel and toe.
Had the same thing happen to me. Just replace water bottle with “cat.” Poor guy got out of his carrier somehow and tried to hide behind the pedals. Fortunately, no accident ensued.
I’m also a hardcore BaT aficionado. I’d like to provide a bit of a counterpoint. You can still find the wonderful, offbeat and cool cars there, at a bit of a discount. But, yes, fewer and fewer projects.
We bought an ‘18 F-150 XLT in November 2017 with $9K knocked off the sticker. That was without hardcore back and forth...
US requirements for side marker lights. Easiest way to tell a euro car from a US car.
The $40K ones are the Tii. Not base carburetored models. And, not the square taillight, safety bumper models. We’ve got a Sahara Biege ‘73 (round taillights) with no rust, and we think we’d struggle to hit $10K with it.
On the subject of manuals, they are harder to get new in the first place. In my experience, many dealerships don’t order them, so you won’t see any on the lot. And when you inquire about special ordering a vehicle, the sales people tend to default to SWAT mode.
Not to mention the video ends with the tagline: Drive Bigger. Yet, it has the audacity to show someone holding a “Think Small” sign in the video, that being an early tagline.
This comment really only scratches the surface of the issues at stake here. Comments like this should be expected to dig a bit deeper.
I know! This is a measurable percentage of US sales, no?
BringaTrailer.com has a Cayenne GTS 6-Speed up right now. SIX. SPEED.
Charlotte is probably a good market for this...
My current favorite apostrophic (new word) failure is when folks put it after the two digit year of their car...
