There are ways to ensure that a manual car cannot be started while in gear. Had one of those installed on a car. Not a problem.
$100K is only a $2,000/month car payment. No problem!
Yep, this. Unless the tank is cast directly in to the engine case, there’s no reason it can’t sit next to the transmission in the 718. Plenty o’ space up under there.
The only issues I’ve had going back and forth between RHD and LHD were using the wrong hand for turn signals (exacerbated by our BMW 2002, which has the turn signals on the right (inboard) side of the steering wheel).
I’ve got an insulated building outside of Chicago. While we did it for the winters, but we’ve found our building stays pretty cool in the summer, too. Just keep the doors closed, and you’d be surprised how cool the slab can stay. We haven’t run an A/C in the summer, but we do have a dehumidifier (which is great for…
I’m never going back...
I’ll be sure to take pictures of the next one I see at my local track (Autobahn outside of Chicago). The people there with the high-end cars DO track them.
Actually, I find some of the commenters there quite knowledgeable.
Meaning what? The only desirable parts of the US are the Bay Area and Manhattan. And in Canada parts of Vancouver and North York in Toronto?
It’s harder to enjoy a rainy race weekend when you are the one racing.
I’m really glad that wasn’t the case when I was 16 and learning to drive stick...
All of racing is a compromise. I’m simply amazed these 358 cubic inch pushrod V-8s can spin at 9,000+ RPM, adding the fact that they are doing it at 290-300 degrees F is even more amazing.
Yep. It’s all torque at the wheels. On paper, the Honda S2000 has about as much torque as my lawnmower. In the real world, rev it to Mars and the car has plenty of in-gear power thanks to gearing that would leave most other cars topping out at 85mph in 6th gear.
Speaking of which, why can’t F1 cars self-start via their hybrid systems? Driver kills it in a spin, and is screwed? BS... But, it’s probably in the sporting regs...
I actually test drove one back in 1993! It was... underwhelming. Bought a used Eclipse GSX a year later for about the same money. Ah, the 90's.
I’ll join in the Miata camp. It’s not an original thought, but that’s what we run in Champcar. And Spec Miata. And in other series. Yes, we have a Miata problem.
Yep... Battle Droids.
I will never be able to look at this logo the same way again...
