Sure, it facilitated it, but there’s been offshoring for years before that and besides that. Call centers in India have nothing to do with NAFTA. Apple’s profits stuck in Ireland have nothing to do with NAFTA.
Blame NAFTA all you want, but there is a history of companies doing what is right for the bottom line above all else. For instance recently, tax-inversions have garnered a ton of press.

Yes. People also use high beams when one (or more) of their low beams are burnt out. Presumably they do this to avoid a ticket for having a light out. In reality, they are evil.

I think we need to rethink the “grid” in general. Solar and wind, generating electricity at the homeowner’s level, may negate the need for large-scale power plants, nuclear or otherwise. The power plants and gas infrastructure we have will continue to supplement them.
