Agreed. If people are still pleased with the previous version, they can stick with it. It’s always been strange to me how movies and music and other media can put out updated versions of their products and most people don’t really give a shit, but gamers get into a huge fuss about it and feel like they’re entitled to

TLoU1 felt a bit soon but it was a PS3 game, so the remake was 2 generations removed.

As an audio engineer, I think of remasters and remakes as entirely different things.

There is no “too soon” for remasters.

I feel like “ASAP” is appropriate for something like this, which is basically a (not free) patch to enable better graphics options and decrease load times if you’re playing it on a PS5. I really appreciate these kind of updates, even though I appreciate them a lot more when they’re free (ex, The Witcher 3), but 10

It’s one fancy dinner, Michael. What could it cost, $10?

Oh fuck off. Just don’t buy it if you’re happy with the PS4 version. Many people are stoked for this. I would argue that it’s actually pathetic for you to be complaining about something that no one is forcing you to buy.

Who gives a fuck? Don’t buy it if you don’t want it.

it’s $10, far cheaper than  a fancy dinner. of course i am.

Where the hell is Factions?!?!?

2 remaster and 1 remake, and this cost 10$ if you already have it, is a DLC basically

for 10$ I am, people should really read the complete news, playstation was really clear that horizon was going to be the last free upgrade from ps4 to ps5

That’s not actually true. If you own the PS4 version, you can upgrade it for $10.

This is the least Metal Gear trailer for a Metal Gear game I’ve ever seen.
Kojima’s absence is readily apparent and sorely missed

Want to list some of the “multiple last gen” open-world games that have instant fast travel?

I think there’s an obvious simple solution - Insomniac could just make it a configurable option. Enable or disable “hold to confirm”. Some people hate this feature in general, so I think it would be a good idea to be able to turn it off anyway.

If it’s taking 5 minutes to load Starfield, you need to check where it’s installed. That sounds like you’ve got it on an external USB drive. Either that, or something else is throttling your performance.

On my Series X, it takes less than a minute to start the game from the main Xbox screen (not Quick Resume), select

It’s fine when it’s used judiciously for things that reasonably require some amount of confirmation but that wouldn’t benefit from an “Are you sure? But for real though, totally sure?” pop-up, like overwriting an existing save. I’m also OK with it as an alternative to a layer or modifier, especially on controllers.

The raw speed is obviously very impressive, but the slickness of that transition is the real wow factor here, IMO. Open map, select fast travel, fade out/in in the exact same timeframe would be significantly less impressive than this map level geometry blending wizardry.

I’ll be honest, I despise hold to confirm as a concept - that’s not really a comment on this particular situation, and more that it basically drives me up the wall whenever I run across it.
