I’m not sure BAT is the site I would quote for sane pricing. BAT is a nut house. But, if that’s what those folks are willing to spend, so be it.

Clean or not, it’s not worth 22k.
Based on what I read I feel like the button was trimming the cunningham and the top of the mast experienced lift in the opposite than expected direction. Am I wrong?
I really can’t grasp the culty crowd. I just don’t get getting on bended knee for any other human. It is so incredibly bizarre to me that anyone would surrender their reason to grovel at the feet of a man, any man. I don’t care if they are an upward failing narcissist like Elonnald Trusk or a tech mogul like Bill…
You are totally right and I owned that in my second post. I watched some GP videos and it became clear that buttons were the exception not the rule. I might even start following sailing again after a long reprieve.
Name calling? Where did I call you a name? I said your comment was silly. Rail Meat is a sailing term for folks whose primary purpose is to be counter ballast on a boat. It’s not an insult and it was an earnest suggestion. You move from rail to rail on the windward side to offset tilt in the hull. I raced smaller…
This sounds great, I want one. It will allow space for another tool I might actually use. The one thing on my Swiss Army knife that is rarely if close to never used is the blade.
I’m guessing you’ve never sailed. Your training wheels comment was amusing. Go volunteer for a crew as rail meat, you’ll have a great time, but you’ll also learn some respect for a “slow” mono hull boat full of tactile/manual controls. And you’ll find your “accuracy” comment was silly.
You might end up getting tired of this topic, but a bunch of poorly engineered metal without crumple zones. air bags or any sort of augmented braking/stability systems is the opposite of safe. You would be far safer in a newish Corolla than you would be in this barge. Nearly as many people died yearly in auto…
I used to race yachts. I love the speed of the current era, but the idea of buttons depresses me. Sailing at the highest levels used to involve not only understanding the wind, currents and specific sail trims. It also required significant physical training and well choreographed movements amongst the crew members.
A rotor is a rotor. Just grab some off of a wrecked C series...
That was unfair. David Tracy was an outlier and none before him was as wrench and I doubt anyone following him will meet his wrenchiness.
The leases he killed were for stations in an underserved area where agreements were in place with local government. He not only made a move to reduce future income, he exposed himself to litigation and he laid down infrastructure that competitors can exploit for free.
They are scraping the plan to use a single cast for the platform and staying with the current 3 cast approach.
I just read about Tesla reneging on several leases in NY where they had started installing new charging stations. Another charging company is coming in on their heals to take the locations and exploit existing infrastructure that Tesla has already installed.
I highly doubt they did anything the lower the compression on the motor before they put on the blower. That engine is a serious nightmare for major repair/replacement and the supercharger would no doubt shorten its lifespan. The addition of the blower makes the car worthless to me. It is the “other peoples mod”…
Those locks are super common in NYC because almost nothing else allows you to keep your bike. When I moved there I was stunned to see that lock on bikes that were worth less than the lock.
I am incredibly grateful to the early adopters who buy EV’s. And while in principal I am on board with the concept, I have yet to see an EV that was fully baked enough to want to take home. The tech is getting better fast, but it hasn’t hit the threshold of price/usability/reliability that will lead to mass…
This is such a core issue. Sometime branding matters. If they called it “driver assist” this problem is significantly diminished. Most people aren’t the sorts who lurk on this site and spend a ton of time digging into the nuances of car tech. They see “auto pilot” and assume it is what it says it is.
Most contemporary subdivisions have incredibly wide main arteries that can be reduced. This allows for addition of alleys while also reducing speeds on the main arteries making the neighborhoods safer.
