Why does the goal of other car companies HAVE to be to put Tesla out of business? Why can’t they all make BEV cars and coexist? Is it the stated goal of GM to put Ford out of business or visa versa?
Been saying it for a year now. Tesla needs to get out of making cars and into licensing its tech. Let Ford make cars “Powered by Tesla!” and let said cars use the supercharger network.
There’s no reason why an EV needs a traditional engine bay or a long hood.
I am happy to see other companies finally playing a legitimate game of catch-up. I think that Tesla will be around for a very long time considering they pioneered the lux EV movement. BMW makes a profit on their cars. They don’t use accounting tricks to make it happen either.
Most people buying electric cars have 2 or 3 other cars in the garage. If they want to go cross country, they’ll drive one of them. If they want to go across town, they’ll take the electric.

JD Power is not nearly as useful as Consumer Reports is, but in any case, you have to give Credit to Hyundai (Genesis). Folks doubted them, but they have continued to double down on making quality, reliable luxury cars.

A roadster without a manual option seems silly - the entire point of a roadster versus a GT is to have a better driving experience and that usually involves more engagement such as shifting on one’s own.
