THIS IS SO STUPID BUT I LOVE IT.

I never played Meridian 59, but the write up reminds me of the first MMO’ish game I played. It was a MUD called MajorMUD through a Portland dial-up BBS. The PVP in that game still holds up today, to me, as the gold standard of what a hardcore modern MMO could still try to accomplish.

I know almost nothing about this series other than the title and what it suggests, and a cursory browse over the Wikipedia page.
