I put a Noctua D9L in a mini ITX build recently (first Noctua cooler!). When I fired it all up I couldn’t hear anything and did a panic shutdown real quick. It was also super hard to see the fan so I resorted to sticking my finger in there and powering it up to get confirmation the damn thing was spinning.

This will be a hell of a lot more interesting, and applicable to something useful, when the AI gets smart enough to alter the image instead of just uprezzing it.

Seeing the cooling solutions being utilized here, with MASSIVE cooling blocks and nice big fat fans, is a huge relief. All the suffering that was caused by the RROD saga seems to have caused avoiding a repeat of that to have been permanently burned into the design philosophy.

I’ve committed to going all-digital this generation. Between the launch of the Xbox One and today I’ve been involved in the design phase of two new humans that now live with us, and managing games is INFINITELY easier when they are digital. I quickly learned this once the Switch started getting a ton of attention.

I didn’t see the entire thing or all the details, but I am trying to be optimistic that the deadline only means the games will be split up into individual purchases, probably for a higher total price, but still be available.
