I have nothing more profound to say than this; what a couple of dicks.
People are upset particularly because of the nature of the ‘burial’ - the bodies were found in part of an old septic system underground, likely a sewage treatment area. Some boys reported falling into the site in the 1970s and seeing a huge number of bodies. It’s not as though this is simply an unmarked graveyard.
They “buried” them in a sewer. And while infant/child mortality were high in Ireland at the time, they were much higher at this “home.”
The fetuses are unsurprising to me. Miscarriages, early stillbirths, nothing to see there IMO. Of course they buried them, they weren’t going to eat them for breakfast.
The last of these homes closed in the 90's - that wasn’t long ago. And this is one is only the latest to be found to have the remains of babies and children buried on site. The episode about the twin brothers made me cry so hard. And then laugh at the end when he was describing how the neighbor was fine disconnecting from him and his family (including his small children) but didn’t want to disconnect from his dog.
