“These spoiled millionaires should be grateful they get to play a kids game”

IDK anything about Charlize, but I wonder what she saw in him. She’s fierce and gorgeous and made of liquid gold. Him not so much.

Yeah, the whole heroin addict-rock star thing works out fine for their audiences, not so much for their kids. I imagine she had to do a lot of work to come to grips with his “legendary awesomeness” vs. her childhood’s reality. I say this as a huge Nirvana fan and as an addiction therapist.

What a lovely photo of the two of them.

I think it’s aimed primarily at the conventions of shows and movies like this. There always seems to be a scene (especially in older romantic comedies), in which a group of women get drunk and, well, generalize about men. This show has always taken aim as tropes (rushing to the airport to stop a loved one from moving,

Except married couples don’t “become one.” — that’s some marriage mythology right there. They’re still two separate and distinct individuals who can choose to ignore their spouse’s influence.

I never did understand a lot of society’s conventions. I mean, I get the logical step by step level why people do what they do, but I never understood it on a personal level why society does what it does ie: holding a person accountable for their partner’s actions.

I can understand why you’d believe that a married couple, “becomes one,” as this is a very old idea enshrined in Christianity (and other religions) as well as English common law and through these traditions it remains a feature of American law: you cannot be compelled to testify against your spouse because the Fifth

But you had access to your boss’s face to tell him that because you are his employee’s spouse, not because you are a consumer. If you wanted to make your point as a consumer, use the system that other consumers have access to, toll-free numbers and e-mail. And somehow your partner’s boss is the asshole in this story?

and based on what i’ve seen / read / heard from amber, you know he’s getting told what’s what. good for her.

I will say this for the last time. Do not hold women accountable for the actions, decisions or words of their partners. Don’t. Do it.

This just solidifies my opinion that David Cross is an asshole, but not an abuser. It sounds like they have a really good relationship, those two. You can love somebody and still acknowledge their faults.

I feel the same about the network execs who spent a fortune on her, believing for some unknown reason that she’d be good at anything other than what she was doing at Fox.

Feels good to watch Megan Kelly fail. Not gonna lie, not gonna feel guilty about it. Pure schadenfreude.
