Oh please. The characters of Sherlock the BBC show were not written as gay. Want a gay Sherlock & Watson? Then make your own damn show. There is plenty of precedence for it. Look at the show Elementary. It’s a perfectly good example of an adaptation of Sherlock. I’d be just as pissed over people wanting to change Lucy…
Never said there shouldn’t be more. But what I don’t want is for some LGBT affirmative action that forces writers to change straight characters into gay ones.....just to make you happy.
LGBT people make up 3% of the US population. So I’m not sure how fair it is to demand changing centuries old characters (who were never gay to begin with) just to satisfy your desire to be represented. From a straight guys perspective, I can’t really read a book, watch a movie, or a TV show without seeing a gay…
