I moved to Columbia from So Cal a year ago (poor choice). I’ve been continually amazed at the subtle and blatant racism I see every day. Missouri is stuck in the past, even in the most progressive city in the racist state.

Eh, it’s hard to tell. It could have been flushed at close range by a dog and handler. As another commenter pointed out, pheasants raised for hunting on game reserves will let hunters get much closer to them than wild birds will. In any case, as “hunting” goes, it’s hardly stalking a bear with a knife in your teeth.
Maybe you noticed, Simmons left Grantland months ago. A lot of good people just lost their jobs, and our industry just lost a lot of good paying work opportunities.
This sucks, so, so much.
