In addition...double check you have tightened everything after you set it back onto the ground. Esp true if using a torque wrench to finish up.

Definitely the best way to do it.
That's the way I've always done it, just to break them loose, and it's never failed me. Also I've never broken an OEM tire iron either. Knock on wood...
More good advice is to loosen the lug nuts prior to jacking the car. Those things can be tight as hell and trying to get them loose with the car resting on a jack is pretty dangerous
I do the same. Just loosen them, then jack the car, then remove them once the car is up.
I thought about this, and I think you're right. I've sometimes gotten some of the weight off the wheel to make the bolt removal easier, but for safety reasons, I think you're right. Probably best to leave that wheel on the ground, supporting weight.
I am deferring to Torch on this, because by removing the weight of the car (ok, 1/4 the weight of the car) off the lug nuts (or lug studs, in my cars' case) you make them much easier to get off without breaking your tire iron.
You're a towel.

The misogyny, while dumb, isn't even the worst part of these photos. The bros watching the games with baseball gloves on and shit are an affront to humanity as a whole.
Well, it WAS Mark from Bloomfield, NJ. Can you blame Mike???
Honestly, that sounds like a hilariously awesome idea.
Yeah? Well you're a towel.

as deadspin's best dancer, this looks fine

Plus, dogs on leashes generally are in a heightened state of arousal, they know they…
thanks man
I think we'd already established that Jameis doesn't understand the meaning of "no."
The 30 for 30 people are already in pre-production for Winston's crash, burn, crash, crash, draft bust, arena league, religious affirmation, crash, burn story.
