This was my immediate thought. Like, if she had to replace her Chozo armor with something man-made, it might look like this.
Very much agree. It loses all the alien Chozo style, but would work if there were some Metroid game where the Chozo take back the power suit and she needs to cobble together one of her own from Federation materials.
