I'm not trying to say that she had some evil masterplan... "It's not her fault she found out how to make money." You're probably right, but you know what? I actually think you can judge people based on how they choose to make their money - what opportunities they take and which ones they don't take - in particular

(I'm really sorry if I just replied twice to your comment - I really don't understand the new commenting system, thought the first didn't post...)

Well, I'm aware that she's not the first "it girl", "socialite" or whatever you wanna call the Vicki Dougas or Paris Hiltons of their generation. But I think she came along at a time when tabloids became bigger than ever, and when reality tv was just getting big, which made her the first "fame for fames sake" star to

Well, I'm aware that Paris Hilton is not the first "socialite", "it girl", or whatever you wanna call the Paris Hiltons and Vicki Dougans of their generation. But I think she stands out because she came along at a time when a) the tabloid industry is bigger than ever (online is just starting out, US magazine "changed"

Really? I don't know much about the robbery/haven't seen The Bling Ring, but, honestly, I feel like that was an instance of karma doing its job. I mean, Paris Hilton is hugely responsible for creating this whole materialistic, narcissist reality-tv, fame-for-fames-sake thing - she's the proto-Kardashian.

Nope. That dress does most certainly not win at anything. Maggie Q is obviously gorgeous, her hair and make-up are great, but that dress? It just looks awkward. Too much skin, the cut's weird, and I really, really don't wanna be able to tell whether someone's wearing underwear on the red carpet.

Wait, is Max on 2 Broke Girls getting married? Not that I (should) care, and I haven't watched that show in forever, plus it's pretty horrible, but now I'm curious...

I think it's background info on the author, as in, she tries to react to the first questions she expects people to have who just found out she's a virgin. She's not dismissing these reasons as "bad reasons" to not have sex, quite the opposite - she's saying that these reasons are often - wrongfully - assumed to be

I think what I'm mostly taking from this is that there's a real person named Iris Bjork Johannesdottir, which sounds like a name someone makes up in a romcom when they've just lied about having a girlfriend, who, for some reason, is from Iceland. (Seriously, I googled her 'cause I was sure that name must be made up).

"Hey, you're black, Beyonce's black, so you're basically the same person, right?"

WTF is up with myspace today? Did it magically reappear from cyber-pugattory? Did we time-travel back to 2004 (and if so, why was no one wearing pink poloshirts and bell buttoms outside today)? Is there someone at myspace orchestrating a "let's post a ton of stuff that will go viral so we'll be cool again" campaign?

It's like 90s rave fashion and 80s hairmetal fashion had one supremely ugly baby.

Hi guys,

Can we please talk about the fact that this was also an outfit at the Chanel fashion show?

But I thought I read somewhere that he and Alanis Morissette broke up because she wanted a family and he didn't?

Personally, I'd much rather sponsor this guys honeymoon with his better half, lamp:

I think this graph is somewhat misleading because the different shows/hosts have different numbers of writers working for them, so in order to compare the different shows the percentage rather than the total number of non-white/-male writers should be used.

So I'm not the only one who noticed that. 1) She's not playing a big-eyed teenager, she's a big-eyed actress who's playing a teenager. 2) Big-eyed? Really? That's the adjective someone who's paid money to write things came up with?

Is there a video of that American Pie reading out there? Because I'd love to watch that. Also: She's amazing in Drinking Buddies, her character in that movie is exactly the kind of female role I'd like to see more of on screen - complex, strong, independent, but also flawed and vulnerable.
