An avocado green 911 with four hundred thousand miles would be welcome in our household. 

Best of both worlds could be a daily-driven S2000 with a quarter million miles for a VERY reasonable price.

How exciting is it that direct injection cars need to be thrashed to be kept in best condition?

I despise the prospect of touch screens. I’ve been able to hold that off. Only recently do I have push-button ignition and an electric parking brake, and I can happily live without those. Bluetooth is pretty damn awesome though.

Your cars were cared for and I bet at least the BMW was garage kept.

Short trips vs. long trips is more time contracting and expanding with cooling and warming than driving. Longer drives at steady temperatures are better for the car.

Short trips wear more than long trips.

Several times, I’ve bought and driven the snot out of high mileage cars. It helps that the cars were Hondas and a Mazda in satisfying condition. (‘99 Accord, ‘03 Insight, ‘04 Civic Hybrid, ‘16 6.)
