We just put our first batch of kimchi in the fermenter this weekend. We tasted it fresh (all the ingredients from H Mart) - so good. I’m very excited about this.

I used to live near a bar next to a hotel where a lot of government contractors stayed. So much confidential information shared at that bar...

My local gov suggested putting out rags soaked in ammonia. It helped me get rid of the raccoons.

My girlfriend got some. She’s trying to convince me to try it. I am, so far, unconvinced.
(She says it’s rare and sold out! It’s an honor! I say, if it’s that rare, save it for the ages...)

This Fantasy Food Draft made me happy, except for the part where no one picked my favorite cocktail, the Negroni, nor my second favorite, the Manhattan.

I got my first visible nose hair on my 25th birthday. Sure sucked the fun out of that one as I stood in the office bathroom with a pair of big ass scissors, trying to cut it before it drove me insane.

I remember when I was shown this trick, and I’ve done it ever since. Delicious.

Might sound weird - but sous vide  your microwave burritos. Amazing the difference. But it’s like 1/2 hour or so versus 90 seconds.

I have a Harris Teeter in the basement of my building that I go to 4-5 times a week. So, yeah, even if I go to Whole Foods once every week or so I think I have a regular grocery store. :-)

(It’s not the *best* HT by any means, but as an apartment convenience, it’s hard to match just riding the elevator to P1.)

That’s how I’ve kept up with friends from college. Regular game nights.

That was an .... interesting ... sandwich. I didn’t realize they were just in a bin by the register waiting to be picked up. But they were smaller and cheaper than a standard JJ’s - just the perfect size for me.

Though I didn’t taste any butter on mine :-(

I was hoping you’d recommend Writer’s Tears. It’s one of my favorites. I just can’t justify the price all the time because I drink it so, so fast.

Okay, this is just MHO but: Small Soldiers, I’ve never seen the flick but I’ve really liked the soundtrack since 90s.

As a white dude, I want to love the city and on my annual visits there I’ve routinely been disappointed by the sheer amount of racist remarks that have been said to me.

That’s exactly what I’d assume. They know it’s going back out right away, especially on a night like Valentine’s Day.

When I was a kid, I ate the tails on shrimp. Once, our family doctor came into the Shoney’s where I was doing that and she asked him to tell me it was bad to do. He reached down, grabbed one of my shrimp, and ate it tail and all.
