There need to be a federal law requiring Ryan Kwanten to be shirtless at all times.

Sarah Palin! Bringing people together since 2008!

Case in point: Sarah Palin.

For real? Damn.

That's really helpful and good to be reminded of. Thank you.

The company handling it by bringing in a lawyer doesn't preclude you going to your local police station and filing an incident report. The police will still investigate and create a record of threats or assaults even if your employer won't. At any rate, if you don't want to do that, then make sure you get copies of

I hear you. See my response to Kizzie below.

I absolutely take your points about intersectionalities and if you say that "ho" is less degrading and enraging than "nigger", you absolutely have the authority and life experience to make that comparison, whereas I do not. I never said "I'm so liberal and therefore I'm so not a racist" at any point in this

File a police report.

My point is that it's never appropriate to use hate language to name your restaurant chain, nor is it okay to blow off objections to hate language with "people need to get a sense of humor" or "there are bigger problems in the world today."

Yeah, ho is just an alternative word for prostitute! It doesn't mean anything bad! It's never used in a hateful, degrading way! It's certainly never used to refer to women who aren't prostitutes! It's not in any way a symbol of degrading, slut-shaming attitudes towards women.

Hey, if you think it's cool to refer to women as "whores" or "hos", that's your business—you have the right to be as misogynist and ignorant as you want to be. The rest of us...yeah, there's some hate for a misogynist term like that.

Okay, now I'm just curious what your name is!

Yeah, I really did. Because I believe both are hateful terms used by the powerful to reject, degrade, shame, and abuse the less powerful. I believe both words should be rejected for casual use based on their ugly histories.

Seriously?

So the owner would have no problem if her restaurant was called "Fat Nigger Burger", right?

its kind of sad that we live in a world where Skylar is considered a normal name

If there was ever a "pics or it didn't happen moment" this would pretty much be it.

Sure, there's therapy and counseling focused on restorative justice. But he hasn't gotten any. Nor has he even taken responsibility for what he's done. He just says "it's not that important to me."
