@yidvicious: Wouldn't it have been better to say that women had the power to reverse those stereotypes? It just sounds like victim-blaming the way it's written.

@snacktastic: I get that...but how is that a "silver lining?" There's nothing good about the fact that women buy into sexism and perpetuate its stereotypes.

The silver lining—if you want to call it that—is that we, as women, aren't powerless in our own unhappiness. Actually we're complicit in it.

@PaigeLGOIT: True. She's brutal to them, which is shitty in its own way. But then she enables them by picking women who are totally conventionally attractive for them. No "you're hobbit, set your sights lower". It's "you're a hobbit but you're rich, so we can always find a cute golddigger for you."

@SnideySense: I think so. I have a lot of alcoholics in my family, and the dynamics/relationships/biology all play a role. You can't treat the problem without acknowledging its components. But also, living with or being responsible for someone who's addicted or mentally ill can be very traumatic and life-altering for

@smmo: That would be awesome. I never played team sports so it would be my first time!

@badmutha: Very true, and a lot of families—-including my own—-have made the mistake of saying "well, it's HER problem, so SHE needs therapy." When someone is seriously ill or addicted, often EVERYONE benefits from therapy.

@PorfirioDiaz: Yes, there is only one acceptable way to look, and it's a look that only about .0001% of the population can achieve. Interesting that she herself doesn't fit that mold at all, and doesn't seem to care.

@PrincessOfPower: Yeah, I'm sure she's developed her "persona" the way so many reality TV folks do. But the advice is just so awful and the parade of bimbos and douchelords she hooks up is just dreadful. I agree that it's depressing.

@CKD1: Been there. It sucks. Always better to realize it and get out BEFORE the wedding.

She may be charming and mediagenic to some of y'all, but her show peddles chauvinist, superficial, materialistic, transactional "relationships" and then dresses them up as "true love." Plus, she bodysnarks in a way that's positively sickening.

@la.donna.pietra: True. Gotta have something for everyone. Although the scenes between Jesus and Lafayette have been surprisingly demure, much to my disappointment.

@kentuckienne: Especially since he can fly! Even Eric looked a bit daunted at the prospect.

I was surprised when Eric (or was it Pam) mentioned that Pam was only 100 years old. I've been trying to figure out where/when he made her, since she speaks Swedish with him, but also has that Southern drawl. Her origins are unclear. When do we get her back story?

Last night had apparently been designated Gratuitous Titty-Shot Night.

@la.donna.pietra: A fabulously expensive, hand-carved crystal urn from the 18th century, I'm sure. Talbot would have wanted it that way.

The Eric and Russell showdown is going to be EPIC. But in the meantime, I kinda hope they keep Russell around for as long as possible, because he can chew the scenery like no one's business.

Bye now.

@sweet tea vodka: Agreed. Are you Color Me Badd? No? Then STFU with the "hey girl."
