Yeah, we know. Did you read the post? That’s kind of the entire point she’s trying to make.

Sumi Jo is a highly respected opera singer known internationally, which makes me sad that she wasn’t invited. I’d have loved to see an opera singer on stage at the Academy awards!

She isn’t a household name, but she is a Mercury prize winner and extremely well known in arts circles. That’s not even close to unknown.

Also, the second paragraph has Anohni’s name as Anhoni right now.

The Oscars is just wrong for only letting the three famous nominees to perform. All 5 or none at all.

I think it’s bullshit that they pick only a few of the nominees for best song to perform. They should ALL perform, or none at all. Is this a new thing or has it always been that way? I seem to recall all of them performing but to be honest, I’m not sure. 99% of Oscar nominated songs are fucking awful mainstream pop

Not going to defend them at all and this movie looks like it will be awful, but there is one black guy. Chadwick Boseman is playing Thoth. And his characters poster is this. Are they trying to make it seem more diverse by just adding in more pictures of him?

Were people mad at Miley? Because I feel like I remember most of the ire being directed toward Robin Thicke...

Not twerking, sure, but it’s called wining.

I’ve been listening to Consideration on repeat. I can’t handle how amazing it is. AHHHHHHH

I’m going to get eaten alive for this but her voice... yikes. Girl is rad as fuck but a good live performer she is not.

This one is:

That doesn’t make her argument illegitimate. Not to mention, she does lightly address the mistreatment of survivors in her first tweet; she seems to propose more advocacy from other feminists (male or female) in order to alleviate this problem.

My brain didn’t try to figure this poor attempt at artful prose out and just decided that he was describing eating her leg.

I’m still a little in shock.

I... really have no idea how to respond to this beyond: What the fuck?

It didn’t and I think that kinda speaks to another issue surrounding the whole thing—-maybe these bloggers aren’t interested in speaking out about race issues because they have a lot of class privilege.

Yes, so much this. Even growing up in a place with a significant Asian American community, I didn’t feel the need to have that be my primary identity.

Did the article talk about the major amount of Asian men involved with street wear online? Like hype beast is based out of Hong Kong , many of high snobiety’s contributing editors are Asian and the majority of people on superfuture and other “ high fashion” forums like style zeitgeist are Chinese and Filipino kids
