Conservative women will vote for him, just as conservative women voted for Mitt Romney. Abbott IS a religious nutjob, and truly horrifying in many ways, but he appears even more so to liberal lefties (and rational thinkers in general) because a) we're a pretty secular country (much more so that the US) and b) he seems

Yep. Makes me sick. Yesterday I told my mum I don't care WHO she votes for, as long as she promises it won't be the LNP. She promised. She's come a long way, my mum. :)

Wanna know the grossest thing? These grubs are going to end up office when we take to the polls in September. This kind of vileness DOES count as humour to many Australians.

Man, number 3 is super cute! Maybe without the flower though.

Okay, now that I've watched the vid I think that might actually be the joke. Apologies, Doug.

'So, when you’re thinking of using semicolons, remember; don’t.'

Nope. And it's semicolons, not semicolon's.

Goodness me. That sounds like perfection.

Is that an accurate translation of dollar value - $1 million in 1968 equating to $7 million now? Because the 2-bed Upper East Side apartment Peggy wanted to buy was $23,000 - that would equate to $161,000 in today's money based on Tracey's calculations. I'm not American, but that's off by at least a million bucks,

This is terrible. Doug is terrible. And Jez, you are becoming more terrible by the day.

Nailed it.

BobLobLaw2013, I did not know you were Australian. You (tied with Yoana) are my favourite Jezebeler, so this makes me happy.

Yay! Loving all this airtime we're giving to Seatosky and his not-creepy-at-all worldview.

I feel bad for him, those hosts were assholes. And all the gross fawning over his looks, ugh. He seems sweet-natured. Maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it seems cruel to make fun of that so openly on national TV.

So you've been reading Jezebel for one whole day (cookie?) and this is clearly your first encounter with the concept of white privilege. Is lurking not a thing anymore? Read a few hundred articles by people who know stuff, learn something, and maaaybe then, when you're finally starting to develop some educated and

... Yep, I'm guessing that was Kaizykat's point.

I'm Australian, and a proud Costco member. It's wonderful that they're matching donations... But as always, it's inconceivable to me, living with universal health care, that a fucking bombing victim should have to fundraise to cover his medical bills. I can't quite imagine the everyday low-level (or not so low-level)

It's an important distinction, right? I mean, it may even be a defining distinction - jokes about rape victims being, by default, unfunny (and therefore not jokes at all), vs jokes that actually examine the awfulness of rapists and rape culture and can be both insightful and hilarious.

I always laugh when people write 'viola' for 'voila'. (It's a nice laugh, I promise. I always picture a little old lady called Viola, for some reason.) The one that irks me big-time is 'wallah'! Wallah?? Really?

'We just have one personality trait each, like Smurfs.'
