'And why would anyone want to join a movement that seeks to tell its members what to believe in?'

You are exactly right.

'As long as women can get pregnant, abortion will be necessary.'

This was very nicely put, thankyou.

Yep.

'Even an "ideal world" would have need for abortions (unless that "ideal world" also includes no possibility of non-viable fetuses or other medical problems that necessitate termination).'

Well, no, I don't think so. If you fundamentally disagree with one of feminism's central tenets - that of bodily autonomy - then you don't get to be a feminist. 'Boxing you out' is not manipulative. It's telling you that your position is unfeminist, and therefore it's not accurate to call yourself a feminist.

Power lifters? Um, no - just regular people with naturally heavier frames and/or more muscle than me. And this 'ON AVERAGE an individual who lives a healthy lifestyle is going to be thinner than an individual who does not' bullshit is just that. There is NO WAY to ascertain a person's health from just looking at them.

Muscle is three times denser than fat, yes. So a cubic inch of muscle weighs more than a cubic inch of fat. Just like a cubic inch of water weighs more than a cubic inch of feathers. Therefore, a human body THE SAME SIZE as another human body that is made up proportionately of more muscle than fat will be heavier.

You make no sense dude.

Not only was this post not about weight issues, but your assumptions about health are also wrong.

Well, you did say exactly that actually. 'who befriends people they would not date?'

You're terrible and I hate pretty much everything you've ever contributed to this site, including this idea that a person is only worth befriending if you want to fuck them. If you have friends, really, they should be warned, because you're awful.

"On a basic level?" You mean, you believe your love of high heels and makeup is innate / biological in origin? Assuming both that you recognise the silliness of this premise, and that you come to Jezebel because you're genuinely interested in examining the whys and what fors of the culture we live in, I'm not sure why

I'm guessing you have the privilege of normal, relatively clear skin. I would love to never, ever wear makeup, and when I don't have to, I never do. However, I've been informally reprimanded in THREE separate jobs for my 'sub-standard presentation'. In each case, this was a reference to the very occasional day when I

Transphobia isn't welcome here.

That's weird. The only people I've ever encountered, in person and online, who are familiar with the term cisgender (ie are educated in contemporary LGBTQ terminology) know it's the opposite of transgender. I've not met anyone who has thought the two terms were interchangeable. I've never seen it misused either, so

Yep, and I would not even call their silence indifferent - despite the fact that your comment has received the largest number of responses and should therefore be at the top of the comments scroll, it has been dropped right to the very bottom. That's pretty aggressive. :\

Yep, she said it so perfectly didn't she? I think commenters should be made to take a Feminism 101 crash course before unlocking comment privileges on this site.

Thankyou, perfectly put.
