I absolutely agree with you. In Australia school uniforms are compulsory (not pre-school though), and I look back on my school life with sheer gratefulness that all the horrors of being a poor kid with no fashion sense had some respite during school hours. I'm short, but as an Australian size 8 (US 2) on top and size 8-10 (US 2-4) in pants and jeans, I am nowhere near obese. How is hip measurement any less arbitrary than BMI in determining body fat/obesity?…
