Had a similar situation around here a couple of years ago. A small gathering at a local Chic-fil-a got too big and the owners of the stores in the adjacent shopping mall forced them to close it down. Several months later, the same store owners were bemoaning the drop off of sales.

Came for this...

I’d tread lightly if I were Leno, Seinfeld or Farah - I hear the Malibu Police Chief doesn’t mess around:

No, the people with surfboards are parking there to go surfing across the street at Malibu Point when the Lagoon parking lot is full. The car enthusiasts generally are eating coffee/breakfast at Bill’s or one of the other restaurants there.

You’re assuming that the car enthusiasts aren’t patronizing the shops there, which is a weird assumption since the whole thing started as people meeting up with their cool cars to drink coffee and get breakfast.

Myself, a person not in software/IT, always enjoys the tickets that get labelled as complete followed by opening a new ticket for the unsolved problem so that the helpdesk shows a better average response time. One of my clients loved to do that to me.

I’m in software development. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve seen ticket responses from developers and from myself that look like this:

Agreed. I think that’s the first public apology I’ve read in ages that actually seems like a sincere statement.

Agree on their apology. And if they wanted to, they could spin this very quickly. Offer a beer discount to cyclists this weekend and the place would be packed.....

Bicyclist here. I thought the apology was refreshing in an age of half assed “we’re sorry if we offended anyone B.S. that passes for sincere nowadays.

no it wont. theyre wanting to tax people worth over 50 million and making over 400k a year. that sure as shit isnt every american and isnt even close. capital gains need to be taxed the same as all other income. it shouldnt matter where it comes from income is income. poor people keep making excuses for the super rich

You mean like the $1 Billion in assets, or $100 Million in capital gains in three consecutive years threshold that’s in the bill? Something like that? So this bill would only impact 700 people in the entire country and not come even remotely close to affecting any non-Musk/non-Bezos or their ilk?

This will fuck every American trying to save for their future.

all it does is show that the individual is so vastly out of step with society around them.

I’m not saying it’s a good idea - but your examples don’t work.  The linked article specifically noted that principle residences (so, your house), and 401ks would be exempted.

And what is that bad news? The linked article is pretty specific that principle residents and 401ks would be exempted.

Ugh - the concept of ‘other people’s money’ is so bloody tiresome.

First they came for the billionaires, and I said “hell yeah” because I wasn’t a billionaire.

You mean to tell me that this Pedoguy doesn’t want to pay taxes?
