Have many homes in this hood who have $500-600k in Escalades, RR’s, Bentleys, G-Wagens all parked outside under the pine trees. And their huge houses have 4-car garages. I’m always wondering how much crap is in those garages. Makes no sense to me except I assume all those SUVs are leased.

Possibly 23 more!

They made their private property public, so fuck ‘em.

That’s hard to say because a 4WD van was pretty much never offered. The new stuff (Sprinter and Transit) pretty much have to be ordered, dealers do not stock them. I ordered my AWD Transit Feb 6th 2021 (just before the chip shortage became public knowledge). It finally came in Oct 6th, a full 8 months to the day after

This.

They can choose to shut this shit down any time they like, but they choose not. They either willfully allow this to continue, or they don’t. There’s no middle ground, there’s no “both sides,” there’s insurrectionists and there’s patriots. Pick a fucking side, already!

Can we stop calling these bozos “protesters” and call them what they are?

Then the cops and politicians need to step up and end this.

You’re literally defending Nazis right now.

The police and politicians there seem to support these chuckle fucks.

thats not threading the needle through the chicane thats cheating. both tires are inside the curbing and that would be a penalty on any track.  it would def get your time thrown out in the game.  hell it would turn red in gt6 if i put one wheel off the track.

There are Conservative politicians who are visibly and explicitly supporting these people - Pierre Polivier, who is using it as a way to attempt to weasel into Conservative leadership has outright stated support. The attempts to break it up have been incredibly half-assed.

Police are never powerless. If they aren't doing something, it's because they don't want to.

Unfortunately, that would be playing into protesters’ hands.

That at least involves consent by the user. I never consented to walking or driving around this half-assed AI tech.

To use the public against themselves. They give broader test data due to a wider variety of locations than just Phoenix and Hamtramck and show you the manufacturer their usage habits for it via telemetry. It also trains the public on how to live with these systems going forward, even if they’re using them wrong.

To be fair to this writer for the NYT, he is using the system EXACTLY as it is marketing by GM. Has anyone seen the commercial showing all the drivers stomping feet and clapping along to Queen? Not saying its safe. Its a dumb feature IMO. I never use the augmented cruise my Outback - its a fun gimmick for like two

I’ve read a number of Manjoo’s pieces over the years, and he’s a smart guy. Like a lot of tech writers, though, he has fundamental blind spots when it comes to the human side of interactive technology. Also, this is just so facile:

This. If anything I would have expected the Plains to be most patient. Highest proportion of farmers.

Julie Kenar, GfK’s senior vice president of mobility consulting, said the difference is most likely due to the high number of auto workers living in the Midwest.
