Gotta love 2022. We’re combining the 2000s dot com bubble with the 2008 housing bubble: sprinkle a little of the build up to 1939's war, the 1918 pandemic and maybe the crash that came in between.

I can understand why they would do this. They are next door to Ukraine. They are NATO’s gate to supplying Ukraine with defensive weapons and aid. No doubt there are members of CDPR who are related to Ukrainians who have been killed or displaced. Why economically support a country who is killing your neighbours?

What a hilariously misinformed take. Like the game or not, it sold mountains of copies.

Cyberpunk wasn’t a flop. It sold 14 million copies within two weeks of launch. Sure, the game’s long-term sales likely haven’t met expectations but “flop” is a bit hyperbolic. To put it in perspective, it took about 6 years for Witcher 3 to hit 30 million sales. Cyberpunk has been out for a little over a year and is

Because it does no good. We already have pro-Russia posts from bots and real people trying to divert attention to the war crimes of the US while acting like Putin isn’t doing anything we haven’t already done.

My thoughts 1 billion percent.

So, let me start off by saying I don’t agree with his methods. I don’t play Souls games myself, but I’m sure he could get volunteers, especially streamers, which would make things less painful for more people while also getting the point across.

Wait so once you get the item that’s it. You have a soft ban.

You know, it might be a lot more interesting if he was a helpful hacker. Like if he visited people and dropped off OP gear and a ton of gold. Imagine people complaining about this good person wandering around their dark game. That would be newsworthy.

Dear FromSoft: take a page from Nintendo. He’s asking for money, he’s profiting off these pages and streams while damaging your product and brand value. Sue his ass until he whimpers in a corner for mercy.

He’s asking for donations in the YouTube link to buy more copies of the game when he inevitably gets banned, and given his nature and track record I would not be surprised in the least to learn those donations funded other shit instead

Hopefully Bandai Namco will take a leaf out of Nintendo’s book and just sue him to bankruptcy.

100% to all of this. I’ll further add that Kotaku, which wears its heart on its sleeve and (rightly) calls out all sorts of bullshit, seems to be adopting a “hey, look at this stinker!” tone for someone who is permanently semi-ruining a video game for others. Like, can we get just 1/100th of the (justifiable) rage we

This is absolutely not how white hat hacking works.

“You’re the villain because you let me do this.  I’m doing this because I need to be stopped,” is some straight up super-villain shit.  Fuck this guy.

Guy can’t even admit that he’s doing this because it’s moderately challenging and also pretty fun. He has to pretend to himself that it’s somehow noble, that he’s doing it for anyone’s benefit other than himself. What a jerk.

He might be saying he ‘wants to get caught’ so that the ‘exploit gets fixed’, but fucking up people’s games is not how to do that. Just because you say you have noble purpose doesn’t mean you aren’t being an asshole.

If it takes you more than an hour or two to beat a boss, then you’re doing something wrong, are under-leveled, etc. Everyone was hyping up Godrick but after 4 deaths getting his patterns down and 20 minutes he was dead. There are tells, sound queues, etc. that make it way easier if you’re taking notice.

Yes, it is. Pick Astrologer (magic) class, stay ranged, and you can 1-shot most dungeon trash from afar. Lots to explore in open world, lots of guides that show you how to get OP early, farm runes (XP), etc. It’s very much worth it, and I say that after putting in 14 hours last weekend after buying it Saturday

Oh, completely agreed, but at the same time, as you kind of indicated, it possibly the most generic fantasy RPG starting point for a story. That was the reason for my amusement with that as it’s so incredibly generic.
