I worked on the Mustang. It had no problem turning the tires. When Edmunds tested it, it was about 10 mph and 1 second faster in the quarter than the V8 cars. None of the V8 guys liked that much so they talked down on the car. Watch the video. The V8 is on a slick, the RB car is on the 19 inch wheels.
