HAPPENED:

We waited as long as possible before ducking down the side of the hill as the train passed by. The train operator was very, very upset with us. He let us know his displeasure with a prolonged blast of his horn. By prolonged I mean that he's probably still blasting it.

However stupid, idiotic, archaic, medieval, bigoted, et cetera this opinion may be, many evangelical "preachers" in the US give him a good run for his money.
