Exactly. Marvel films safe indeed, bland. The antagonists are bland: the chitauri, Loki, the mandarin, red skull, black elves... moustache-twirling baddies with no real motivation other than 'being evil' or 'being mischievous'. No exploration of deeper issues or moral grey areas. They all have the same,

Hey! I do this all the time with a friend of mine... basically all our conversations lead to MP.

Next episode:

Well, I did have a few typos in there, didn't I? I was just joking about the 'trired' part because you wouldn't say why my argument was so flawed, now that you did, I can't say anyhting about your imagination, but your reasoning is surely misdirected.

Hey! I'll check this Gen13 thing out. I've seen supes do this several times though, but you're right, by the end everyone loves him and he winks at the... fourth wall?

The 'I could totally debunk your argument... totally, but I won't, because I'm trired right now". Clever! So, SO clever!

Like I said in another thread, people forget that language (dialects) came first and grammar rules were created afterwards to try to account for the way people were using sounds to communicate.

There are no bad changes to a language, language is homeostatic, it may change but it always will convey the meaning effectively, even if it means an entire category of words has to shift. For instance: English is said to have a weak inflectional system (compared to other languages), but it ‘compensates’ by having a

But Superman can be angsty. I mean, I’ve read several arcs where new, more edgy superheroes are introduced and they tease Superman for being outdated and Superman MOPES for pages and pages… so emo!

Hmm... that's pretty reasonable, I think I see your point. I'd say Rorschach does have a sense of justice and morality, even if it is a tad askew (so, SO askew). And doctor Manhattan grows in a way, you know... he goes all: "Okay, maybe there IS something remarkable about life after all. I'll save every—-Ah, too late,

I don't think anyone is supposed to like the characters. As in, I don't think the author was trying to make any character endearing or likable, most of them are sociopaths. I guess the challenge of the story is that it forces you to side with a character despite the fact that none of them are the ideal GOOD GUY/GAL.

This. They tell you the protagonist is an expert, has 7 College degrees, has worked in 49 super secret missions and has been in 3 wars. The actor/actress that plays the character is 17 years old. WTF?!

It'll end in tears.

I'm INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT, so... I'm gonna hit the gym and take a bath, and basically not use my enhanced intelligence for anyhting actual intelligent people do...

What bothers me is this: what do they say DURING THE WINTER? The winter is co... OH.

I appreciate this exchange.
