You’re very invested in perpetrating rape culture. That sucks.

If it’s a political ploy, then that will come out in the inquiry. It isn’t proven just because you really, really want to believe it is.

1) It wouldn’t cast doubt on the victim’s version of events (“I don’t remember the events that way”). That’s called a “denial,” not an apology.

Oh, hey, here you are again. Same tired apologist argument, too.

Plenty of people get fired from their jobs for inappropriate behavior without being convicted of any crimes.

If we keep thinking this is about sides and the real issue will never get better. Personally, people running with the “he apologized” and “he seems genuinely contrite” bother me. Everyone is sorry and contrite when they are caught.

HE DIDN’T RAPE/ASSAULT/MOLEST/ETC. MEEEEEE SO HE CAN’T BE THAT BAD!

I hate these “women in solidarity with...” statements. Yeah, there are always going to be women who weren’t harassed. But just because it didn’t happen to you doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Snopes debunked that last week.

I don’t know whether Franken should resign, but I will say this:

To quote Terry Crews, “no one gets a pass”. These are grown ass men that know the shit that they’re pulling is wrong. I’m not going to play the “whose molestation is worst” game. Act like a damn adult, or expect to be cancelled.

All I can think is I would be VERY INCREDIBLY upset if he touched my ass on a photo shoot or pretended to honk my boobs for a ‘funny’ photo. The fact that he ‘thought it would be funny’ coupled with his assumption ‘guys do this all the time, it is ok’ is the problem. Its a way bigger issue than Franken. If men can get

Here’s some justification:

I think he deserves to be lumped in with the group “powerful men who committed acts of sexual misconduct.” I think everyone is pretty capable of understanding that encompasses a varying degree of behavior.

Actually, no, that’s horrible logic. Anyone saying Franken should resign is saying that Franken’s behavior is bad enough to resign, not that it’s as bad as anyone else’s behavior.

And I’m sure Roy Moore didn’t assault EVERY 14-year-old girl he met. Not helpful.

As far as the 36 female Franken-supporting staffers (say that 5x fast), isn’t it likely that most of them wouldn’t be current workers there, especially if they worked with Franken way back when?

Al did this in the last 10-15 years. It would be one thing if he did it as a coked up comedy writer in the late 70's then grew to realize how shitty is was with age. He knew better in 2010, but used his status as a public figure to get away with it. In a sick way dumpo was right, if a white man has any amount of

Personally, I’m glad smaller acts of demeaning and unwanted behavior are getting called out. Women have been raised to deal with the social contract of ‘boys will be boys’ for far too long.
