I loved the demo. Personally I found the medium puzzle took me the longest, and I couldn't figure out how to get the star that required a laser but wasn't part of a objective puzzle (I figured you had to use the medium puzzles laser but couldn't get it to reach)

Well the walls are thought to have been there for 100 years, since no one has any memories before that time. It could be 5000 years since the apocalypse and no one would know.

Not really, Star Wars was set a long time ago, far far away from Napoleonic France. The technology to make modern explosives could easily have been developed long before the pseudo-apocalypse but been lost.
