And your ignoring the fact that's not his consistent speed, he can't maintain it. Also your using Sonic CD as reference, which if I'm not mistaken isn't set on Mobius...but the Miricle Planet which most likely has different properties than Mobius (as it only appears on the last month of every year)

Urm, in Back to the Future you can travel through time by hitting 88MPH...which is less than the speed they claim Sonic moves. No reason to think he breaks lightspeed.

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.
