Given that Rebels is going out of its way to directly incorporate prequel era stuff, I don’t see it as ignoring that much. There may not be a lot of direct references in the new film, but I expect there will probably be something. This isn’t just a JJ joint, and Disney is all about the brand now.

Lemme put it this way: I don’t think the prequels are really essential to enjoying the original trilogy. Yes, there are some common elements, like Tatooine, Anakin/Vader, and Palpatine, but the backstory provided in the original movies is more than enough to understand what’s going on. Even if you were born after

There’s a difference between purging the movie canon of Eps. I-III and just flat-out ignoring them in favor of new elements. I imagine that the new movies will avoid any specific references to the prequels, even if they remain part of the official continuity. They’ll be sequels to the OT only, and the books and comics

Dude, really?

They’re not disowning the prequels. Get real. Season 2 of Rebels seems to go out of its way to wave its arms and shout that they DO count the prequels.

I think there’s a big difference between not doing callbacks to the prequels, and outright contradicting them. Especially since Disney has been very clear that they are canon. The idea of pretending the prequels don’t exist is more fanboy wishful thinking than anything supported by reality.

Star Wars Rebels is canon now though and will have the old clones on an episode this season and they still look Maori. So they haven't ignored that bit of the prequels.

Obviously, I can’t wait to see what the new Spider-Man costume looks like in action. I hope he has enough time to show off his powers against... who, someone from Hydra maybe? An Inhuman? Or Iron Man himself?? Maybe he’ll just swoop down and save someone, you know...

Piper broke the 4th wall like no one else.

He technically served Destro, after he broke off from Cobra, changed his mask from silver to gold, and led his Grenadiers on a “*this* is how you take over the world, Commander!” campaign.

I thought he would be remembered for telling Mr. T that he wears more chains than his ancestors.

I refuse to believe he’d ever willingly serve the likes of COBRA. He had to be a Joe mole.

Destro’s gonna need a new drill instructor.

The time he interviewed this poor jobber and just runs his down. The man had the gift of gab. RIP.

Those are some fine straws you’re grasping at. What are they made of?

Miles Teller is a damn good actor..... who you want to punch in the face just because of his face. Everyone knows this I think

Doesnt sound like that to me

THANK YOU. All of my friends don’t get it, but I feel an instinctive need to punch in Miles Teller’s face every time I see it.
