Many - if not most, will eat whenever the opportunity strikes. I have a Springer Spaniel and a Terrier mutt, both of different ages, and it doesn't matter how much you feed them, they will eat and eat and eat and eat until they make themselves sick. (proven to us when they got into a 10lb bag of kibble)
