These women are heroes, queens, and Amazons. Reading this I was utterly filled with the power of ‘YAAASSSSSS’.

I super appreciate her correction: there is no right or wrong way to feel about an abortion. I am extremely pro-choice, don’t regret my abortion, and am pretty sick of the “hardest choice of all” narrative. But in all this politicking women still need to be able to feel however they feel, and most importantly, know…
I’m borrowing it from someone else on Jez (wish I could find it), who said “I’m not pro-choice. I’m pro-abortion.” And I am, FOR ANY REASON. Because I do not (nor does ANYONE else) have the moral authority or right to condemn anyone for exercising autonomy over their own bodies.
I’ve been following this hashtag on Twitter and it makes me so happy to hear people stand up against bullies and refuse to be defined by other people’s expectations. You rock, Amelia and Lindy!
Every time I come across the “going all night” trope in the movies or lit or music, I laugh in my head at the perpetual teenager who must have concocted that ideal. Who ever thought this was a good thing? The same people who put food on genitals, no doubt.
My little chihuahua mix is gorgeous, and people are always asking what kind of dog she is. I just tell them she’s a Fancy Something.
I do feel sorry for the Pit mixes. They can be really sweet dogs. Admittedly I won’t adopt one because I’m in my 60s and I can’t handle a dog that big and strong. So I have my (maybe) beagle/(maybe) chihuahua mix and my (probably) full beagle - but they were both strays so who knows dogs - and they are great.
My two shelter mutts thank you for your service! <3
I've watched a documentary about how overbreeding has affected different breeds of dogs. It was heartbreaking seeing the genetic disorders the animals experienced. Look at what happened to Bulldogs.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the politics and ethics of pedigree breeding lately. I just started volunteering at a local animal shelter and the weird obsession people have with breeds is difficult to accept. It’s one of the first questions people ask, and they’re not looking for breed-specific illnesses or genetic…
It takes a lot of balls to admit that. I applaud you :-)
I heard they tried to deliver the samples through Greyhound but the Retriever never showed.
The next time (on the street) when a stranger asks what kind of dog my dog is, instead of saying, well he’s a shelter dog-so we think Great Dane and hound but he might have some boxer or pit or lab! I’m just going to say, “he’s a fancy dog.” And then walk away.
You know, one day I’ll be mature enough not to giggle for thirty seconds about the couple fighting over their Dog’s sperm being named the Wangsnesses.
So, if I’m not sufficiently physically attractive, I can’t ask for anything from my potential partner? And if I decline to go along with that, the response isn’t just, “Well, then you might end up staying single...” but, “Yeah, you need to examine your biases...” and perhaps a bit of shaming on top of that?
Are we actually going to start asking men to start questioning their preferences? Because from what I can tell, most of the pressure to do this is put on feminist-leaning women. So far, I’ve been told that it’s not reasonable for me to want a guy who has a job or a college degree or who doesn’t live with his parents,…
The thing that gets me about this story is just the RIDICULOUS IRONY of Donald fucking Trump saying:
I would text back that it was nice (if it was) but I’m not interested in seeing him again. Then add “Take care,” which signals that though I am kind, my decision is definitely not up for discussion. I will not respond to anything beyond that.
Well, I don’t know if you should bang the guy, but I sure enjoyed your story! Meh, I’ll just go ahead an say skip it. In a year you’ll look back and be thankful that you didn’t. Plus he won’t be as gorgeous a year from now as you thought he was. Happened to me once, and I’m glad I didn’t go there.
I can't speak highly enough of Ireland. Lots of visitors, everyone is in a good mood, and drinking in the afternoon is a national pastime. I've never been hit on or been bought so many drinks in my life. And let me be the first to point out this was not a time in my life where I was particularly well dressed or…
