There's a world of difference between "This is what I observe" and "It is what it is and we should nothing about it."

Isn't it understandable that people would think that a POC would be more aware and passionate about diversity issues, and that it was strange if a POC was little different than your typical straight white male showrunner?

The irony is that White showrunners these days get questioned all the time about a lack of diversity. See Michael Patrick King, Larry David, Jerry Seinfeld, Lena Dunham, Matthew Weiner, etc.

In the write-up for her book on Amazon, the first line mentions that she was the obedient daughter of immigrant parents. She also mentions India and Sri Lanka.
