All my coworkers are looking at me trying unsuccessfully to hold in the giggles.

If he’s laughing at himself then aren’t we laughing with him?

Same here, approaching 40 and I just can’t handle anything remotely sentimental now. Cartoon movies bringing the tears - check; see a guy carrying his sleeping child across a parking lot and get sentimental about wanting to do that with my little girl, who I *just* saw 30 minutes ago when I left the house - check;

Joe Maddon was not available when they hired Williams. Still a shitty hire though.

Every player and coach in the Nats dugout was yelling shit about that call, and the ump turned around and immediately singled out Bryce for ejection. Should the ump have ejected the entire Nationals dugout? All he has to do in that situation is turn around, tell Clint to step in the box and the game moves on; half the

Obviously I was referring to *his* commenting on the article, and just left out the “is” necessary to make that defense even a little bit plausible.

Guilty... I’m the internet asshole who doesn’t realize it until three comments in on any particular thread.

I guess my point was that your comment brought nothing new to the table though. You gave us the Cliff Notes version of the article. I don’t think you have to disagree with the article to comment on it, but providing *some* commentary would be more interesting.

I haven’t read all of the comments, so maybe you were

So you agree with every word of the article your commenting on then? Thanks for weighing in I guess?

How often can you talk about Bryce and Murphy?

Yeah... I know. But part of the problem is that it becomes a feedback loop. Baseball doesn’t get ratings so they don’t talk about baseball, new/potential fans don’t hear about baseball so they don’t listen to baseball commentary, etc. Or, maybe because they talk about baseball so infrequently, when they actually do

Saves, like wins are virtually meaningless stats for a pitcher. He has a 1.417 WHIP so far this year, and his swing/miss percentage (regardless of what I said about Paulsen’s tweet in a different comment; the information is correct/important) is at career lows. Those 9 saves were not, by and large, done deals. He’s

I’ll take your word on it, but his morning show on DC radio is fucking garbage. If he cares/knows enough about baseball to have an MLB show, you’d think he’d force his own local radio show to talk about it for more time that it takes the Skins to find a new pretend native American to champion their cause.

Yeah, I was going to write to defend Will on this one. I read his column when it comes out, and most of it was kind of dead on (this is the language I use to support someone I detest, other than when he writes about baseball). Trump is a terror and must be stopped.

I don’t like him much*, but I’m a Nats fan, so him getting what he probably deserves hurts my team. I root for him to succeed, but I’m not super excited about it.

The funniest thing about this post is that it includes a tweet from Grant Paulsen acting like he knows shit about baseball instead of just parroting what all the other baseball people in town were tweeting after the game.

For my parents, that was a hellish 4-6 years (I started in this regimen sometime in middle school and ramped it up as my body required more and more food) - looking back I don’t understand how they could afford it all,

Definitely plays a role... that was high school through freshman year in college (the college year’s meals moved to a dining hall, rather than lots of mom food), and I’m 38 now. I put on at least half of that pretty much immediately upon quitting, but the rest is due to age and general apathy around working out

As an ex-swimmer, eating was anything but a chore, but I didn’t time mine out like him. I ate an ungodly amount of calories per day, and it was the most wondrous life ever. I’m now 40 pounds heavier than my swimming weight, and I just can’t figure out how to make myself eat less.

I’ll be honest, I saw your comment before I watched the “making of” video, and was hoping to make fun of you with a variation of “why don’t you watch the ‘making of’ video you dummy.” Then I watched it. It conveyed almost no information. Sad! I mean, I guess it showed us that a couple of people worked really carefully
