Have you looked into switching out your detectors in or near the kitchen to a heat/rate of rise detector? Same ballpark price as the newer 10yr smoke detectors gives you more leeway with high-heat cooking.

I’m kinda struggling with the fact that I have black pool noodles at home right now because I was able to come up with the idea to use them to keep balls from rolling under the couch when the dog is playing with them, but somehow never came up with the idea to use them similarly in my car.
