Vauxhall Astra Mk4 1.8 Sport, mine was older than this one (1998), but that rear wing was fantastic in the snow, completely obscured all useful rear vision if you couldn’t be bothered to clear it. 115 bhp, but good for 8.5 secs 0-60 although that meant 70 on the motorway was 3500 revs in 5th gear. The handling was

Neutral:  I have concerns that we’re all spending a lot of money on something that isn’t and likely won’t be a viable long term solution for transport.  I dunno what will be the solution, but I don’t see how it can be batteries.

I have never seen a car on a hub dyno that wanted to flip over backwards so bad. That was wild.

It’s a little black disc with some wires coming out of it.

I think the Ranger is a (relatively) slow seller because it’s a overall worse truck that the Colorado. I bought a Tacoma, but I fully believe the Colorado is the best midsize truck on the market today (for the vast majority of people). It’s got the most comfortable ride & interior (yeah, kinda GM cheap feeling); all

As I’ve said before, this is the whole issue I have with GM. They lag and lag behind the industry, and then when they finally do what everyone else has been doing, they want all kinds of pomp and circumstance for it. Then, after they get it right, the entire project loses steam and gets cancelled.

A CUV with a CVT.

Do you have an example? I’ve searched, and while I’ve found articles and forum posts talking about how bad they are in the long-run, I haven’t actually found one. Perhaps a third-party lease company offers these? I can’t see a manufacturer wanting to own a car they can’t CPO on the back end.

A young person liking a Lincoln is the best news Lincoln has heard in 40 years.

As a young person, I really like lincoln’s offerings. They may be a little to expensive for me at the moment, but at least I like them. Thats more than I can say about cadillac. Nothing against GM, I own a GMC and like it.

4th Gear: It feels like Lincoln has pulled off a turnaround that was 10x more successful than Cadillac’s attempt, and in about 1/4 the time, just be doing really simple shit.

Something that has rear wheel drive and no CVT. Although a manual is preferred, a good 8-speed automatic would be fine. At least 300hp and either a sedan or a coupe. Quiet comfortable interior and well-designed headlights that are bright but aimed properly. Minimal infotainment. Just good sound and bluetooth audio

On a happier note, an E21 BMW M6 seems to be sitting at under $20k on BaT

Some of us can’t plug in when we get home

yeah i wish theyd go all out for efficiency vs power like i can’t use 1000 hp on the street as well as i would love to have crazy range since i don’t have a garage to charge in every night.

OK, we get it. These fuckers are fast. Still not buying until refuel is as convenient as gas. Please make that happen and I’m in.

I have fond memories of when the Germans made kind of a normal car, only better and nicer and built to last. These days? Honestly, I wouldn’t be after any cars in this class, regardless of marque and country of origin, if a Brinks truck wiped out in my front yard.

Eh, he probably paid about $600 for the wheels to be refinished...and about 50 bucks at an auto parts store would get you all the supplies you need. Throw in a $25 harbor freight buffer if you want to save time

Pretty much my thoughts. Put money into crawl over things stuff, leave the patina, have fun.
