The game of attracting businesses is already rigged in many ways, in favor of America’s largest and wealthiest cities. Bidding gives smaller cities a longshot chance they would not otherwise rate. NYC did win, but then lost, because they didn’t get enough stakeholders in the city on board. If powerful politicians and

NY: Pay taxes and allow unions

SO. FUCKING TRUE. and people complain how expensive it is to live here? Then have a fucking walmart!

You are not wrong. CitiBank and JetBlue already have HQs in LIC. Then again this is the same city that spent years making sure Walmart never moved in, but has no problems with the two KMarts or the seemingly endless new Targets that keep popping up.

I’d wager the rear windows are a sort of thin plastic to reduce the weight impact from glass.

Every time I drive to my parent’s house (184 miles) I try to set a person best record for the shortest drive time. I always try to beat the Waze/Google maps ETA.

C’mon, haven’t you ever smelled something funky and then shoved it under someone else’s nose and commanded “here, smell this”?

I know you meant to say bad idea, worse execution, but I’ll cut you some slack since it’s early.

What ever happened to Jimmy in portfolio management?

And that is where a 2jz shines, it can be a much smaller displacement engine, put out the big power numbers and keep on ticking. I can’t speak for all engine swaps, but narrow bay could leave a v8 out of the mix and at least for me, I wouldn’t want to swap another OEM engine into another OEM’s car. So I wouldn’t swap

Got a substantial raise half-way through and owed $1k less, 2018 was a good year.

And I don’t know what exactly makes the 2JZ so incredibly special when the LS is far cheaper, more plentiful, and capable of more power for less money.

$1800 ANYTHING is going to be a POS. If you’re going to be down on the freezing ground wrestling with fuel pumps- you might as well be under a worthy car rather than a Nissan Sentra.

That doesn’t look like the same thing at all.

what do I want it to be?  Turbocharged, ferchrissakes.

A better Nissan: a Datsun. A 510, or a Z.

Considering how parts bin most of the drivetrain is, it wouldn’t be much worse than any other bmw from the time.

Even though the NSX might be the smartest choice here the Z8 is clearly the best answer. Just get a decent service history and factor in 1-2K a year in maintenance and you are set to stand out in just about any crowd all day long. That would be my choice if I had that budget!

That was honestly the last car I expected to see pop up on one of these and my jaw about hit the floor when I saw the picture.

Kudos to whomever put 150k miles on that Z8!
