I think because it smacks of laziness.  BMW designed everything actually functional about the car (chassis, engine, suspension) without any input from Toyota (Toyota even said so).  Toyota then changed the shocks and put a different body on top and called it by the most iconic name in their history.  It really just

Would you be this upset if they never talked about the collaboration and simply put the BMW engine in the Supra and made sure to carefully remove all BMW logos and stickers?  What is it about the sharing of engineering that has you so upset?  I mean, people put LSs in everything nowadays, and frankly it’s because the

Fun stats about the 4th gen Supra and E36 M3 (from wikipedia, don’t slay me):

Can we stop the 2JZ lovefest? It was a tax bracket engine and Toyota’s limited usage even in Japan shows it wasn’t that great.

First of all, that’s a car from Iowa, so it’s a spoiler.

Perhaps if they realized they could start making honest to god luxury vehicles, then people would view them as such.

Yeah. I’m not keen on the E30's like everyone else seems to be. The E36 has a better rear suspension.  I tracked an E36 M3 for a couple years. It was fast an fun. Pretty cheap to track too compared to my STI.

Having owned and driven a highly modified BMW E36 M3 sedan for 9 years, I can guess what happened here: summer tires + wet roads + driving too fast = loss of control & crash.

I’d argue it’s the Escalade that has the brand cachet, not Cadillac. If they were smart they’d call this the Escalade Sport or something.

So because those are ugly this Caddy isn’t? I don’t get it. They are all hideous. Though to be fair the Caddy is more on the extremely bland side than ugly.

You’re being awfully generous comparing its looks to the XC90. You’re right on the money that there’s no passion to this, this is just... sad. There’s nothing Cadillac about its looks whatsoever, it doesn’t look remotely premium.

Well GM certainly seems to be doing everything in its power to let Lincoln catch up.

Wow, there is no passion in this design whatsoever. Congrats Cadillac, you’ve arrived in Blandville. If I first saw this vehicle completely debadged, I might think it was a mid-cycle refresh of the Volvo XC90.

It’s an unexciting car on an ancient platform, but it’s still better than 98% of the vehicles out there, and so it is praised as forbidden fruit. The end is near.

Here we go, an article for the guy who caught me dissing GRMN trim cars the other day. a 350-unit limited Mark X, lol. I liked Mark Xes, years ago. They’re popular fun drift cars. This car seems good but the choice of the Mark X is just baffling to me, the rarity is silly and the price is just insane. It’s weird, I

No manual option. Because fun is wrong now.

I thought these were BMW’s not VW’s.

Replace hoses and fluids and check suspension bushings and you should be good to go.

But cars aren’t actually getting much heavier—if you ignore the nameplate.

I see like eight different parting lines in there, plus threaded inserts, plus it’s hollow so it either has to have air blown in or some kind of crazy collapsing core. Plus there’s probably conformal cooling in the mold.
