I should also say that this is the first EV of any make that I’d be willing to actually buy.

I’ve tried to sell me wife on one of these. Our Escalade gets atrocious mileage around town, and when I’m at work we don’t need the 6+ seats.
FTFY
Heh - touché.
So much of that is hyperbole, though. You have an odd failure or two highly publicized on Bimmerforums and suddenly they’re unreliable and everyone has to pro-actively address the “problem.”
You are right. So am I.
This news is literally decades old.
I’ve never had a muscle car pull up and try to race me, but I’ve had several of the cars on this list try to goad me into a race.
Ah, my bad. AWD, not RWD. That’s a bad, bad typo.
LOL - yeah, that’s where I’m at. I was considering buying an F30, but after a lot of soul searching I’ve decided I’ll probably just get another E36 M3/4/5 and start the slow (re)build process again if mine gets killed.
Hehe - yeah, I actually skipped it this year. I only get so much fizz from driving someone else’s car. And me and my E36 M3 sedan were left behind a long, long time ago.
AFAIK the new M5 in general is RWD only, Competition or not. So not really very similar.
History thus far has shown that the manual cars maintain value significantly better than the autos.
There’s always a weakest link. I imagine the clutch plates are a much better selection than the LSD housing or the diff casing.
I’m not sure faulting them for not being able to figure out a decent way to power two previously belt-driven accessories in the absence of a crankshaft pulley relates to their ability to make the yaw and wheel speed sensors communicate with their respective controls.
This thing predated the Camaro that recently was built.
I think they know there are too many racers to make the most powerful version AWD only. They’d have a mutiny on their hands (i.e. they’d defect to Porsche).
There are a couple threads discussing it here - poke around a little if you want more opinions.
I’ve never met anyone who took care of their own BMW who had an issue with the maintenance cost / burden.
Being owned to death by GM, I’m not sure you’d even count Saab as European, at least from this perspective.
