I actually disagree. Your “pre-tax” net worth should include the market value of all of your assets, regardless of whether it’s realized or unrealized. I’m also not sure why short-term investment gain should be viewed any differently than long-term investment gain in this regard.

Just go get the same exercise mammals been getting for millions of years. 

I don’t see any harm in including short term investment gains if they are realized. What you do with it from there is another story (ie. reinvestment then resets that view). However, counting unrealized gains in a net worth calculation is the definition of counting your chickens before they hatch.

Counterpoint: it’s super cute to see a 2 - 4 year old super proud of dressing themselves and noticing that their shoes are on the wrong feet (and shirt is inside out and pants are on backwards, if being worn, at all).

No. Talking back suggests willful impertinence whereas getting your point across is about trying to come to a place of mutual understanding. In my experience, the latter is only viewed as the former by those with large and/or brittle egos.

Lets also take into account that most people that adopt want white babies and that she isn’t.  

I see Jamil’s replies are filled almost exclusively with the usual WASP Evangelical GOP Pro-Restriction crowd with the usual hand-wringing claims that “The Child” could’ve gone to the home of a sweet adoptive couple like those who can’t have children.

I’m glad someone from that network had her write this (or maybe it was her agent or management who want her to, you know, work).
