You’re making me really miss my Great Aunt Hattie. We always had her pimento cheese sandwiches when visiting the family out on the farm in Mississippi. I was 6 when we moved up north and I don’t remember anything about her recipe, just the green plastic bowl she mixed it in and the chickens running around in the yard.

Most insurance considers treatment cosmetic instead of medical.

My grandmother had so many of those book of the month club selections and the abridged novels that are published in a group of 4. I also remember her shelves if romance novels and shelves of Bibles.

With good insurance (typically only available through an employer), it's not that expensive. I had no copay for any regularly scheduled appointments and tests. I paid $250 each day I was in the hospital and they literally came to my room to ask for my credit card. Even my epidural was included. Lots of people don't

And in Ohio you’re a Buckeye.

I was fortunate enough that the post-baby depression never really hit me, just a case of baby blues that was probably attributable to lack of sleep. I’m an only and my husband is the oldest of four, splitting the difference with two kids meant they could have a sibling but we’d never be outnumbered. And we had them

And you’re not outnumbered. Plus, much easier to fit four in a car. That third carseat requires more than a sedan or a hatchback unless you’re really, really good at getting them all in there.

Wow, that’s some pricey childcare. We went the in-home route because we just couldn’t stomach the costs otherwise. I’m paying $195/week per kid but there’s a $25/week discount for the second kid, in Long Beach, California.

never used it in our diaper regimen, but we definitely use it for removing sand from the playground or the beach. Such a limited exposure is probably safer than their daily car ride to and from daycare. I don’t see anything here about the type of asbestos that’s found in talc, they aren’t all the same.

This is my husband right now. He’s so fed up with Trump (and the Tea Party before him) that he changed his party affiliation to independent and voted for a bunch of democrats this year. He comes from a family of republican Trump haters that were all shocked that he won in the first place. Maybe just California

came here for this. If I slept when the baby slept, there would be no food to eat or clean clothes to wear and I wouldn’t shower for weeks.

I went fancy this year with Grands Cinnamon Rolls. you only get 5 but they are legitimately larger. I made eggs later that morning.

The hot toy in our house is of the LOL Surprise variety, but it’s Surprizimals from Claire’s. The toys inside are actually really cute and they are overpriced but beloved. fit really well in the stocking too.

Umm, Honey Nut Frosted Flakes is just “Nut and Honey Crunch” right? That was totally my favorite cereal for awhile.

darn it, I’m much too far behind on my blog reading. Wish I’d seen this before Christmas Eve. I was totally prepared for the kids’ stockings (ages 2 and 4) but I forgot to get anything for ours. I ended up filling them with stuff from the cupboards (rice krispie treats, bags of goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, rx

I made personalized cocktail glasses with etching cream for my husband’s grandmother once, also included a nice metal serving tray and a bottle of Grand Marnier. Felt pretty fancy, especially when she realized I actually made the glasses instead of buying them that way.

My brother-in-law started doing GIS for Cal Fire this year. His Christmas presents were wrapped in maps from the Woolsey Fire this year. A little morbid, but they were just going to be tossed.

I definitely disagree (as others have) on Dr. Seuss. I am SO tired of re-reading The Lorax and One Fish Two Fish. There are a few that are great, especially the board book version which is abridged. We especially like “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket” and “Mr. Brown can moo, can you?”

We have two copies of this one. One with missing tabs and one that’s still fairly pristine. The two year old isn’t ready for the nice version yet.

We love Knuffle Bunny and Dragons love Tacos.
