I wish I could’ve intervened but my own mother has had two mastectomies (16 years apart) and it was DCIS both times. Both times they started with a lumpectomy, failed to get clean margins, and ended up with radical mastectomy. I think they overtreated her both times but I can’t really say that to her. Luckily, we’re

I’m pretty sure ours was always “bubble gum” flavored which is just downright nasty. There may have also been grape. I can still picture those little Dixie cups on a tray in my 5th grade classroom.

That’s my grandfather too, outlived his 8 siblings and two wives. Luckily, he’s still active in his church and sees his “girlfriend” (he’s 88 and she’s 78) often. But his closest family is a ten hour drive away. He still makes that drive at Christmas but I don’t think he’ll be able to keep that up much longer.

5 minutes? that’s crazy! I was encouraged to only post 10 to 15 minute lectures, while my boss who teaches in the same program just goes ahead and posts 1.5 hour lectures. He’s trying to pass everything down to me though so I’m breaking up the lectures into several small bites to keep their attention. I know when I

If it weren’t for my horse, I never would have spent that year in college.

We had that too but I only remember how much I hated the flavor so I always just pretended to swish it around.

I tried my best to avoid “girly” clothing but she was gifted a ton. And it really didn’t matter in the end because baby #2 was a boy and was gifted clothing as well. I avoid the character clothes so that’s not a huge deal and even in the girls section I’ve managed to get dinosaur pajamas from Carters and glow in the

It’s for less than 2 year olds too. My daughter’s clothes (she’s now 2.5) were all frilly bloomers that barely covered her butt. I buy shorts for my 9 month old son and they all come to his knees or longer. The 2.5 year old is petite and although she wears size 2T in girls clothes most of the time she can fit in most

The problem is we didn’t want to get rid of toys that #1 may have outgrown but #2 will play with in the near future. I can’t wait for #2 to outgrow the baby toys. As he gets too big for something, it goes in the quarterly consignment sale (or I sell it on letgo/offerup/facebook marketplace).

My 2.5 year old brings us her books all day long and also is in a phase where she wants to “read” to us. If she had the book memorized, then she hits most of the words. Otherwise she just describes what she sees. I haven’t really started night time reading with the nine month old yet. He probably gets one bedtime book

My unsolicited placenta story..

Great article, too bad the comments are full of trolls that have no idea what it’s like to be a nursing mother. I’m very glad I never had to travel for work while pumping. I brought back extra milk after visiting family for a week but it was only about 30 ounces and I had the baby with me so I got through very easily.

Except if it was a short trip you probably aren’t checking a bag. And even in a short flight you probably have to pump while ON the plane our r at the airport. I pump every three hours when I’m away from the baby. And that milk needs to be refrigerated, so you need ice packs.

  • What’s your favorite salad green? Red Leaf and Green Leaf Lettuce are cheap, butter lettuce is preferred but goes bad before I get to use it all or remember that it’s in the fridge.

And now we’ve bought one. I got my husband an Echo Dot for Father’s Day, just to play with while he’s unemployed. He discovered he could put it in his car but now he needs an Echo for the house.

No doctor even bothered to ask me about my long, painful, next periods until I couldn’t get pregnant. Even the fertility specialist skipped right past it. But eventually my obgyn decided it was a possibility and got my laparoscopy approved. Yep, there it was. He cut out what he could, put me on drugs to go into a

San Pellegrino is my jam, I buy the Pompelmo flavor in bulk from Amazon Subscribe and Save.

Another big proponent of just buying them their own seat. I’ve traveled with my babies as lap children when they were small and I was alone, but luckily we could borrow a car seat at our destination. If we’re bringing a car seat, both baby and the seat itself are safer on the plane in their own seat. I’d rather not

Sorry about the LA County jury duty. I had that a couple years ago though I could’ve probably gotten out of it with breastfeeding. It was all so silly, first they made me go sign in at one courthouse. Then after an hour, they told me to come back three hours later at another courthouse. Then once I got there, they

I was just talking about this over the weekend with my in-laws. I’ve basically chalked it up to the fact that people are REALLY bad at making small talk. My sister-in-law has three boys (4, 2, and 2 months) and she’s constantly asked if she’s going to try again for a girl or if she wishes one of them had been a girl.
