I was almost lucky when it came to this because I’d already had two last names when i got married and I didn’t feel attached to either of them. My mother legally changed her name while pregnant with me to that of my bio dad so that she could pretend she’d gotten married in order to keep her job. (He ran off and I’ve

My husband showed me this commercial a week ago. Apparently, he’d never noticed that I kept a stepstool in the bathroom for a few months postpartum. I never knew it could be so useful until I really needed it.

Your property tax isn’t flat but it can only increase by a small percentage each year. We were lucky to buy at the bottom of the market and our value is up 30% but our property taxes have barely increased.

I’m totally happy keeping the Bengals off national TV; it’s the only reason they keep winning. Of course, playoff games are always nationally televised, so they’ll definitely lose in the first round again.

Matt Sanchez? Is that a hybrid of Matt Barkley/Leinart and Mark Sanchez? None of whom are starting QBs anymore.

I’m hourly, white collar, civil PE with a BS and an MS. Yes, I have health insurance, profit sharing, 20 days vacation, and time and a half for overtime. It’s the best of both worlds.

It seems like most people don’t even know there’s an income cap. I’ve certainly never hit it but my managers do and it’s like they get a raise when they hit it.

My GYN told me to have a baseline mammogram done at either 40 or 10 years before your mother’s diagnosis, whichever was earlier. In my case, that would have been 37 but my mother and her oncologist thought I should start at 30 so I convinced my GP to sign off on it. I have no idea when I should start having them

Thank you for writing this. I’m still perplexed about when to really start mammography. I’m BRCA negative but my maternal grandmother passed away at 57 from breast cancer and my mother just had her second mastectomy. (DCIS both times, no clean margins after lumpectomy lead to single mastectomy both in 1999 (age 47)

I hope you can find a surrogate. I have a friend of a friend who used one recently and their little boy just turned one. And my cousin was a surrogate for her brother and it was pretty rough for her even though she loves being pregnant (it was her fourth pregnancy). Personally, I hated being pregnant but I’m already

Good luck, I hope the surgeries work out for you. I had to have a lap to have endo removed and then six months of hormone treatments, but four months later I was finally pregnant. 2.5 years from first trying to a positive test and we were literally going to start IVF the month I finally got pregnant. So it can

I think this only works if you bring food to the table in serving dishes. In my family, you grab a plate and help yourself to the finished product sitting on the stove. And now we have a baby gate in the way, so bringing a plate from the table to the stove and back to the table is one extra time through the gate while

I don’t think of her Bieber as an update guest though.

We also really like Drunk Uncle. And I like Kate’s Angela Merkel sometimes. I love Taran’s critic and “girl you don’t want to talk to at a party.”

I’m sorry the hormones don’t work for you, have you tried anything stronger than BC? I had surgical removal of my endo followed by 6 months of Lupron Depo shots and that really helped. (It also helped my infertility but that’s a different story.) I had unbearably painful, heavy periods and they were much better on BC

We got pregnant the cycle before IVF (they had to refund the $7K I’d already paid) but we’d already done IUI twice, plus surgery to diagnose endometriosis and remove what they could. You were definitely lucky to avoid all that hassle. I almost feel like I got the baby at a discount. :)

I hate-watch it, but only because the houses they flip are close to me geographically. I’m always disgusted that they make such a huge profit. I especially hate the staged auctions they go to with all those checks.

He told a story about signing books on the new Moth podcast. He sounds like a really awesome person beyond the writing talent.

I’m so glad he’s in congress. He used to be my state senator and before that state representative. But I couldn’t afford to buy a house in that district. Luckily, my new congresswoman (Linda Sanchez: https://lindasanchez.house.gov/) is freakin’ amazing too.

Yes, that’s the way I understand it. We have both a high-deductible PPO and an HMO offered at my company. You can do the HSA with the PPO and an FSA with the HMO.
