Well to be fair to Marvel while I do get that long time fans will have an easier time of it (except me who as a long time fan is still pretty confused) this seems to be an opportunity to return to story arcs that are long (or recently) completed.

I prefer Peter as an adult and being a fan for over 30 years I don't want any stories involving Peter being picked on by Flash Thompson but I have some trust in Marvel and their ability to advise Sony to focus on the villains and not the angsty teenager aspects that have been old since 1970.

Dan Simmons played with these creatures in his sequel to Ilium, Olympos. He really brought out just how terrifying they would have been.

I like it too. Spider-Man might be tough enough to persist with spandex only but closer to human heroes should have some protection. Even bikers wear leather so they don't get their skin ripped off their bodies. Superheroes have far worse hazards.

Aren't humans that have had a mutant gene inserted (engineered rather than natural mutation) regarded as mutates after the original Genosha storyline? Seems Deadpool qualifies as a mutate at least technically.
