What a lovely thing to say, thank you.
As the father with a child with Autism, I want to be clear about something even though this article did not specifically mention it. Vaccines had nothing to do with it. While I am not a medical doctor, I do have a PhD in Computer Science and like to think I am somewhat intelligent. But guess what? I know when to stay…
It’s so fucking eye rolling at this point where instead of rolling my eyes and walking away, I would insult them with “Colonizer” before I walk away.
This jibes with how much I enjoy visiting the Netherlands. Keep it up! We need less bullshit in this world.
I made a number of business trips to NL in the mid 1990s; ‘direct’ is pretty much how I found your countrymen. And I liked it...no bullshit, no silliness. I knew where they stood.
I have quite a bit of contact with Dutch people for my job and one of my favs is the signature some of them have on their e-mails “I hope I have informed you sufficiently”. I always read it like “Yeah, do you get it now? Now go away”.
That was some pretty sweet stuff.
Well said, paardenlul!
That...
I already knew I liked Dutch people - now I think I should just start watching speed skating in anticipation of my future move.
Wasn’t it also a Dutch reporter that called out a US Ambassador for trying that #FakeNews bullshit? Starting to think we need more Dutch in our lives.
I work with both Dutch and Middle Eastern customers, so I get exposed to complete opposite ends of the communication spectrum, direct and curt, and indirect and deferential.
I loved visiting your country, but the Dutch are the most admonitory nation on earth. I was scolded several times, mostly deservedly...
Yeah, that’s about right. The Dutch tend to be polite, if at times brutally honest. However, when we notice that politeness isn’t returned...Well...like you said we have a low tollerance for bullshit.
When it comes to being an arrogant douche, Americans really shouldn’t be throwing stones. Glass houses and all that.
Yes, very much so. Here’s my outsider’s perspective:
... how does he assert himself as arrogant? Like... he states facts... watches as someone implodes or disputes them illogically and then restates facts. He’s not puffing up his own ego, admits when he’s not an expert in something, and is sorta not impressed by Carlson’s childish tactics.
*shrug* sounds like a legit way…
Gee, that wasn’t very “fair & balanced,” now was it Tucker? Just kidding, all you have to do is look at this assclown to know he’s a spoiled entitled jerk who will scream like a little bitch when he gets mad
Yeah he jumped there so quickly. Once he brought up the Koch brothers funding him, you know as opposed to Netflix not paying taxes?
