Snide remarks? What on earth are talking about? I'm merely pointing out the silly double-standard it is on anytime Prometheus has a post versus anytime Pacific Rim has a post and how the io9 community responds. It wasn't an attack on you, as I already stated, so I'm not sure why you're taking it as such.

I wasn't fishing for hypocrisy from you, merely commenting on io9 in general — the statement had nothing to do with your own tastes, hence why I never said anything negative about you.

It's amazing how this argument always comes up when it's Pacific Rim, but when it's something like Prometheus everyone's free to just be an asshole and troll others.

I will go to my grave saying "Pacific Rim" is a fucking terrible movie.

Complete ripoff of "Alien Nation"? God, I've heard this argument so many times and it's still a stupid fucking argument. The very, very, very, very, very basic premise is slightly similar — nothing more.

I'd love to see either Matt Reeves or Neill Blomkamp take on the Star Trek series. I doubt the latter would do it given his previous statements, but I bet the former would.

Locked-in syndrome remains one of my biggest fears. This is neat, but still — what a way to live.

FYI: The first reviews of "Elysium" are rolling out at the moment. Only a few so far, though, so hard to know what to go by. One is negative, but the others I've seen have been very positive.

Nope, sorry. If you want to live in fantasy world, be my guest. Those of us who are actually part of the sport aren't so naive.

Your argument blatantly disregards many facts.

Exactly. When you look at the fastest 100-meter dash times ever, almost all of the athletes have either failed a drug test or been directly linked to performance-enhancing drugs. There's not a doubt in my mind that Bolt is dirty.

I don't want to live if this movie doesn't win every Oscar in every category next year. Foreign film? Yes. Documentary? Yes. I WANT IT TO WIN EVERYTHING!

Sigh...

Correlation doesn't equal causation. Saying the addition of ESPN was the reason why Xbox Live costs were increased doesn't make it true; Microsoft was obviously working on upgrading its infrastructure, which is evident from the massive overhaul Xbox Live will receive for Xbox One games.

I'm so fucking tired of gamers bitching when a console adds more entertainment capabilities.

Yeah... I'm not seeing the big deal.

I don't understand, Owen. Why would Min-Liang Tan not playing One, which hasn't even been released yet, mean his company won't make PS3 accessories?

My list (in no particular order): Moon, Safety Not Guaranteed, Monsters, Let Me In, Europa Repot, Trollhunter, 28 Days Later, Paranormal Activity, The Mist, Cloverfield, Cube, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Buried, The Descent

This film is a horror film only if you think something that's slightly scarier than "Apollo 13" is a horror film. That is to say that, yes, there are moments that are scary and tense, but no, it's not a horror film in any way.

The console can stand with the help of a stand.
