I’m definitely not taking it to be the 100% complete truth, but I do try to trust that these reviews are as accurate as can be for mentioning what content is included.

I would agree if it wasn’t for the fact that we got an entire, rather large segment of Juno-related story in Syndicate. And not just one quick mention or line of dialogue, but an entire section of London in a separate time period, where the story was basically dedicated to unlocking an entire conversation and…
Definitely agree with you. If Origins doesn’t do much in the way of explaining something interesting to me, I’ll likely strongly reconsider purchasing the next title.
Oh I know! I don’t try believing otherwise. I know I’m usually the odd one out. But, it gives me a reason to care about the individual settings. Black Flag/Rogue was the last great AC experience for me, and I’d love for that feeling to return. They had both interesting characters/past stories, and strong implications…
I think that’s exactly why things kind of lost steam after AC 3/4. The story sort of lost its way (and I believe they lost the original head writer, so, whoever took his place likely didn’t want to take the same reigns as before). Unity and Syndicate barely held any important to the overarching plot. As “main” titles,…
I think some people just like to believe their opinion is somehow more valid than others. Don’t know why, it just seems to happen sometimes. Discussion like this is far more welcome than division and argument. =)
Having watched some Shadow of War gameplay, I entirely agree. Movement in that game looks like an absolute blast.
Agreed. Unless an AC game is clearly meant as a side story of sorts, I prefer having some reason why we’re exploring these worlds. Rogue really managed to make it interesting, with the destruction of so many Assassin groups at the end, but we haven’t had an important modern-day moment since... well, I guess the movie…
I haven’t gotten around to the Witcher series yet, but I’m thinking I should probably get to it soon. Just so many open world games to work on (like, I’ve still got Far Cry 3 to start).
The mention of the apparent lack of progression in the modern day storyline is a huge letdown for me. I don’t particularly care about many of the individual stories in each game except to see how it all connects back to the real world story. After all the Juno setups over the years, I was hoping we’d finally see…
I have! I know very little about the show; just what little I’ve been hearing from vague connections to Rick and Morty (so, I know that Bill Cipher exists, but nothing about him). Any specific info, I don’t know anything.
It’s odd; AC is one of the only franchises (along with Saints Row) where I just can’t get enough of them. I can always play more.
As someone who just recently started watching Gravity Falls (after all the references from Rick and Morty), I’ve gotta say, I’m okay with any comparison. I’m only a few episodes in, but I’m loving what the show does.
In that case, I’d suggest just playing through Rogue and Syndicate. Unity was a total wash of anything important or relevant, IMO, but Rogue and Syndicate had interesting moments/instances (including the previously mentioned repercussions of the Rogue storyline, and an entire segment in Syndicate where you hear…
For what it’s worth, Ubisoft did go back to ancient Egypt to avoid complete historical accuracy. It’s possible they’ll be there just because they wanted them there.
I have yet to watch the entire series (seen the first 6 episodes of season 1), but reading any line from any creator about deliberately choosing not to answer certain mysteries always rubs me the wrong way (most recently, I heard this sentiment coming from the creators of Stranger Things). If there’s no guarantee of a…
So long as it includes new segments! There was so much of that game that was left out of the final product, and I’d love to see what the full vision of the game would have been like in motion.
See, the simplicity of the exploration/progression and the style are two of the reasons I love that game. For some reason, I remember seeing a ton of reviews bash these points, but they were two of my favorite aspects.
Having played the first episode (And with the understanding that this story isn’t supposed to directly lead to Rachel’s disappearance in the original title), I can say with confidence that this is a story worth getting in to. With all of the theories revolving around Rachel, this set of episodes seems to serve to…
Never heard of this before now. Gonna search that up to check some of her material out later.
